These are just some keywords that instantly pop up my mind when I think of Then I Met You. I’ve closely followed the brand since its launch and they’ve come such a long way in a short amount of time. It’s such a unique brand because there is this unique story behind jeong (정) and making meaningful connections through the products, consumers, and relationships.
Jeong (정) is a very well understood concept in the Korean culture that is difficult to describe 100%. Although I grew up in the states, I am very attached to this concept in life and through all my relationships. I’ve always thought that the concept of jeong (정) didn’t exist in the states and found it hard to describe to non-Koreans. The closest I was able to describe would be to have a soft spot for somebody for no reason or for any reason. It’s this feeling that I can give without expecting any back in return.
Jeong (정) is a deep connection one can have towards the other and Charlotte Cho does an amazing job executing this concept into her own skincare line, Then I Met You.
Then I Met You.
So let’s #GlowDeeper and talk about the products, shall we? Then I Met You currently only has two products- The Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel (recently included it in my favorite cleansers) and the Living Cleansing Balm. Together, they make The Cleansing Duo.
Living Cleansing Balm
She is a thick and gorgeous cleansing balm. I immediately fell in love with the marigold yellow and I’m on my second jar. This oil cleanser has a blend of persimmon, rosemary, grapefruit, and a blend of lightweight grape seed, olive, and sea buckthorn oils. Using the Glow Deeper spatula, I use a dime size and spread it all over the face. Using this cleansing balm has elevated my cleansing experience and I look forward to removing my makeup each night. Although it’s thicker than other cleansing balms I’ve tried, it dissolves instantaneously as it touches my skin skin and is so easy to spread across the face. It takes off my sunscreen, makeup and waterproof makeup really well but I make sure to double cleanse by following up with a water-based cleanser.
The Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel
This is a low pH water-based gel cleanser packed with nutritious ingredients for your skin. It’s a sticky jelly texture formulated with PHAs and tea tree to clear pores and prevent breakouts. Some key ingredients include licorice root, green tea, rice ferment, and centella asiatica. All the ingredients are gentle, packed with antioxidants, and is suitable for all skin types. I use the cleansing balm + gel cleanser at night and use the gel cleanser alone in the morning.
Then I Met You has a special place in my heart and I can’t wait for the line to expand. If you haven’t explored the brand yet, I dare you to fall in love with their amazing products, the brand, and the concept of jeong (정).
As always, thank you for reading 🙂
