I’m a strong believer in taking care of the “inside” of the body because it directly affects the “outside” of the body. I’ve always stressed the importance of “inner beauty” because this means everything to me. No matter how much I take care of my face (which is only the outside), bad eating habits or not lack of important nutrients will result in breakouts, dull face, dry skin, etc. Today, I want to share some of my beauty and health supplements that I enjoy taking. You may be familiar with some and not others!
The Beauty Chef Antioxidant Inner Beauty Boost
I’ve been taking this for awhile now! If you’ve read my past skincare posts, I’ve mentioned it a couple of times before (here and here) and in case you can’t tell, it’s really my favorite daily supplement to take at night. I fill up the bottle cap and dump it into a cup of water, and chug before I go to bed! Just finished my bottle, so I think this is the perfect time to try the Hydration or Collagen version I’ve always been meaning to try.
Neocell Beauty Infusion Collagen Powder (Tangerine Flavor)
I shared this on my Instagram back in July, and it’s been a great supplement to take in the mornings. It’s also so simple to use because all you have to do is mix it in with water. The best part? It actually tastes fine. Other collagen powders I’ve tried have funky aftertastes, but this specific product and perhaps the flavor (I know there are other flavors and those might be different) does not. It does take some time for the powder to completely mix in with the water so this is what I do: Put it in a cup filled with water, mix it a bit with a spoon, leave to wash-up and get ready, and drink it when I’m ready to head out.
Aronia, also known as chokeberry, helps with reducing inflammation, protecting the immune system, and more. The berry family, which includes acai, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, are all great sources of antioxidants that everyone can add in their daily routines. Superfood berries like aronia or acai are pricier, but strawberries, blueberries and blackberries are way easier to grab from the grocery store- especially strawberries! I love blending up a quick smoothie with bananas + chia seeds + about two spoonfuls of aronia powder when I need a quick breakfast before heading out.
If you’ve never heard of Spirulina, it’s a blue-green algae packed with lots of nutrients and benefits. Spirulina is really helpful for those with lots of allergies (ME) and high cholestrol (ME). Now we clearly know why this is one of my favorite supplements because I have all the problems in the world, right? 🙂 A BEAUTIFUL color, but the only con is that it may not smell great for some people! I definitely do not appreciate the smell… I’ve seen others mix it in with juices, smoothies, even salads, but I personally keep it to my liquids and with a very small amount due to the strong smell.
I use a small amount of camu camu powder to use in my beauty juice! It’s SO sour to consume alone, so I DO NOT recommend anyone do that. I’ve tried mixing in with water, yogurt, milk, everything but found that incorporating it into a smoothie or juice works best! Camu camu is a superfood high in vitamin C, and SO high that it contains 43 times more vitamin C than oranges. Isn’t that crazy?
My dad actually recommended that I take these B-12 vitamins. I’ve had really low energy for a couple of months earlier this year. I worked out and slept well each night, yet I was SO exhausted all.the.time. It was so bad that I lost motivation for everything and I felt so weak. My dad goes on business trips all the time and B-12 helps him tremendously! It’s not something I have faith in after hearing about it once because I’ve heard it a couple of times from others as well. I’ve taken B-12 daily for a couple of months now and the energy level has been way better. I still do get tired, but definitely not as much as I used to, and I strongly believe that it’s from this B-12 supplement!
I’m so glad the health/beauty industry has been focusing on promoting the importance of probiotics more lately. There was a huge wave of trend in Korea a couple of years ago about probiotics, and I feel like it’s now coming into the United States, because I’m seeing trendy brands like Tula or HUM Nutrition that incorporate probiotics. Yogurt, Kefir, or Kombucha are easy ways to get your probiotic intake if you’re not into supplements!
FYI, I don’t take ALL of these in one day. The ones that I do take daily are the B-12, probiotics and the Antioxidant Inner Beauty Boost. The others I rotate depending on how I feel and what my skin needs that day! I also have so many more things that I want to talk about, but that’ll come in a different post. As always, thank you for reading 🙂
