I love to read and I try to read as much as I can! However, I don’t always have the time to sit down and dedicate time to reading a book. This is when Audible‘s audiobooks come in very handy! There are some pros and cons to an audiobook, but it still helps me get my daily reading in during a commute or when I’m getting ready. I either use the Audible app in the car or Alexa at home to listen to an audiobook. Here are some I want to recommend!
I learned so much about health and wellness after “listening” to this audiobook. I’ve been really watching out what I put into my body and I think awareness is a good starting point. Constantly throughout the book, she talks about her Fab Four recipe, which is Protein, Fiber, Fat, and Greens to incorporate into each meal. She also shares tons of recipes, so this was a good “brain food” type of read during my morning commutes!
The 4-Hour Workweek
This is a self-help book that has been great to help me become less of a workaholic and to really focus on work-life balance. I wish I had read this book when I was in college, because that was the busiest stage of my life trying to juggle everything I can. Timothy Ferriss discusses many topics that I really took away a lot from:
- Be effective, not efficient
- Being clear about your priorities
- Being aware of personal finance
- Doing what makes you happy
I think this could be a great book for a company to read altogether as part of a leadership program or training.
The Power of Habit
Charles Duhigg talk about the importance of habit, which ultimate comes down to a 3-Step Loop (Cute, Routine, Reward). It’s a great book that proves with so many different examples how we have the power to change and to shape our lives. If you’re hoping to go through some changes whether that be big or small, I think this would be a great read!
Crazy Rich Asians
This is a fun one! I read this in the physical copy, but I think this one would be a good fast read before the movie comes out next week! There’s also two more to this series, which I haven’t gotten to but will pretty soon. The author Kevin Kwan portrays the lavish culture of Asia’s upper crust, and he sure does it in the funniest way. If you’re not into any of the self-growth books I mentioned above, this is the one for you!
Audiobooks also help me when I have a migraine and I just can’t look at a book or my Kindle! If you’re an audiobook person, go you 🙂 If you’ve never tried, give it a try this week! You can get 2 free audible books with a 1-month trial, and you can get 1 credit a month after trial ($14.95/month after 30 days) and you can cancel anytime. As always, thank you for reading!
